Good Morning!

It is 9:05am and she's still asleep!!! I can't believe it - it's almost time for her morning nap and she hasn't even woken up yet!

We have had a fun weekend - Aunt Shelly came down to visit all by herself - first time in 3 years she has gone anywhere without Charles or the kids! We had a great time - went to Sam Moon and bought the girls adorable bags for school/ballet/just because, Carter's (where of course we bought a lot of cute stuff), and lots of other stuff. I think the highlight of the trip for Shelly was going to the Founders Plaza at DFW Airport. It's this great little park at the end of the runways where you can watch the planes take off and land. For whatever reason, she is obsessed with planes so it was really fun! I took a picture of her looking up at an airplane after it took off and she looks like a little kid in a candy store! We were there for 2 hours - it was a beautiful day with a breeze and we will definitely be going back with Hadley as it gets cooler and have a picnic or something. I'm glad she was able to come down and enjoy some time by herself - Jeremy babysat one night and we went to dinner just the two of us without kids which was really nice! I know Charles, Emily and Ashley missed her, though - they were waiting outside for her when she got home!

We bought a new used car - a Jeep Grand Cherokee which will be my car to drive with Hadley. It feels great to sit up high again - I definitely like SUVs over cars before I feel safer being up higher.

I'm posting a lot of pictures to show how big Hadley is getting!

The Little Things

I texted Jeremy at work yesterday because Hadley finally pooped and he immediately called me back all excited!! :) So, we have decided it is definitely the little things that are so exciting when it comes to a baby - who knew we'd be so excited to change a dirty diaper! She had not had a dirty diaper in over 24 hours, which is odd for her (she has the Ezell stomach for sure) so we were watching it carefully and hoping for a dirty diaper every time we changed her. The doctor's office said to call back in 5 days if she hadn't pooped yet - that seems like an awfully long time to go - can't imagine what that diaper would have been like! But, we're all set now - multiple poopy diapers since then so not to worry! (She will be so embarrassed if she ever sees this!)

Fun Updates!

It has been a while since I have posted anything because we've been busy the last few weeks! Hadley and Mommy traveled back to Kansas and Arkansasfor the first time - she did WONDERFUL!! We only had to stop twice on the way there and once on the way home - I was happily surprised and hope she continues to be a good traveler! We had a wonderful time in both places - Hadley met a lot of family and friends she hadn't yet seen. We had a Sip and See in Fort Smith for everyone to meet both Hadley and Ashley and catch up with Emily, which was really fun. I hadn't seen some of the people there since our wedding! Hadley and Ashley both did great with all the people and Emily was a gracious big sister/counsin. We are going back to Galena at the end of August to do the same thing up there with Daddy. He wasn't able to go with us because he had to work (if you call hiking and fly fishing in Idaho work!) so we are excited to travel back as a family for the first time!

I don't have any pictures on my camera from the trip because Jeremy had the camera, but the pictures at the top are some pictures from his trip to Idaho - he said it was the most beautiful place he had ever been. I never thought of Idaho has a pretty place but it is gorgeous from the pictures!

Hadley is growing like a weed - she is 12 pounds 2 ounces and 23 1/4 inches long! She sucks on her hand and does this cute thing with her lip and loves her paci! She is a morning person - she just smiles and coos whenever you go to get her out of bed in the mornings. She also loves her changing table and her bouncer - that was the best purchase ever! The picture above is her hanging out while getting a bath - she loves baths - isntant calmer! Also, here's a little clip of her smiling really good!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hadley slept through the night last night!!!!

She went to sleep around 8:30pm last night and woke up at 5:15am this morning - yeah!!! I woke up so many times during the night to check on her and she was sleeping just fine! Even at 5:15am she just stirred a little - not real fussy for not having eaten in almost 9 hours! We are so proud of her. She went to sleep right at 8:00pm tonight so we'll see if she sleeps that long again or if it was just a one time thing for now. In the past, good sleep was 8+ hours - I cannot tell you how refreshed I felt this morning after getting 6 full hours of sleep - crazy how being a parent changes your ideals!

So that's the major news although she is doing so many fun things - laughing and smiling a lot more now, which is so fun to watch! She is very strong and can hold her head up which makes it easier to carry her around and "play." She loves to lay on her back and have you raise her up to a sitting position - gets a smile every time!

SLEEP!!!

We are proud to say Hadley has gone for a full week sleeping 6 hours at night - yeah!!!! She started getting fussy around 8pm last Wednesday night so we got her ready for bed and fed her, and she went right to sleep and didn't wake up until 2:45am! On Thursday, she got fussy at the same time so we repeated the same routine and she again slept till 2:45am. We were very excited to think she's getting on some kind of schedule but didn't want to get our hopes up, but after a week hopefully we're on a roll! I need to learn my lesson and go to bed when she goes to bed, but it's so nice to have the quiet time so I usually get a lot done at night before heading to bed. Oh well, life of a parent! AND, in the middle of all this, she also started taking a bottle without any problems so we have had a WONDERFUL week!

I had a little Mommy time this morning all by myself and went to get a pedicure (first time my toes have been painted in probably 11 months) and ran a few quick errands. It felt so nice and it was great to get out of the house and actually just "run in" somewhere real quick!

Lots of Stuff!

It has been a while since I've posted anything so there is a lot to catch up on!
We had quite a busy week last week, starting on Wednesday. Hadley had her one month check up which means she got a shot. The saying that parents always say - "It hurts me more than it hurts you" - is so true and I totally understand it now! She did really good - when the nurse gave her the shot, she gripped my finger so hard and cried but it only lasted a few seconds and then she was fine. However, Mommy accidentally ripped the band-aid off her leg and she cried harder and longer then than when she got the actual shot!
Poor Hadley - her first band-aid from shots!

Aunt Sammie, Uncle Josh, Nicholas, Natalie and Naomi stopped in on Wednesday on their trip to Florida (a little out of the way but Uncle Josh hadn't met Hadley yet). They got here around 7pm that night and left around 1:00pm on Thursday. Mimi and Bub got here Thursday night around 9:30pm so we cleaned the house and changed out sheets before they got here! Aunt Cathryn, Uncle Rick and Rayanna stopped by Friday morning on their way to Houston to see Micah, so that was fun to see them! Then, Aunt Shelly, Uncle Charles, Emily and Ashley got here Friday night after being stuck in traffic in the middle of Oklahoma - it took them over 8 1/2 hours to get here! It was the first time we had seen the babies or each other since they were born - it was so fun to put them next each other and look at them! Emily is a wonderful big sister and cousin, and Mimi and Bub even babysat all 3 girls while we went and ran some errands!
Nicholas, Hadley, Natalie and Naomi - almost all 4 are looking at the camera!
A future K-Stater???
Mimi and Bub with all 3 girls!
Ashley, Emily and Hadley - so cute!
Aunt Shelly, Emily, Hadley and Mommy had our first outing to Carter's to find matching outfits for the girls' pictures. It was the first time Hadley and Mommy had gotten out - we needed a little help with the stroller for the first time then we got the hang of it! On Sunday, Hadley, Mommy and Daddy went to Quiznos and Target, too, so Hadley has been out and about now. Mommy is very excited to be able and get out of the house - she's been home either on bed rest or waiting for Hadley's shots, so it's nice to be out and about again!
Our first outing - shopping of course!

Happy Birthday Hadley!

Hadley is one month old today!!! It is so hard to believe it has already been a month since she was born - time flies when you're having fun and when you only get 3 hours of sleep at a time!

She is already growing and changing so much - it is amazing to see how much she changes on a daily basis. We think she has truly woken up now - she is so bright eyed and awake most of the day. We've had a few nights of 5 hours of sleep between feedings, but usually it is 3 hours, which we won't complain about. Here's a recap of the things she can do now:
-Grasp a rattle and hold on to it
-Roll to her side
-Smile (a real smile - not just one when she has gas!)
-Turn her head from right to left when laying on her tummy
-Found her hand
We are having so much fun watching her grow and can't wait to see what comes next!
