Big Girl!

The babies!

White Christmas! We made snow angels in 8" of snow!

Our cutie pie!

We are going to be an aunt and uncle again!! Sammie and Josh are having another baby - they are due in July - so exciting! Congratulations!
Hadley is getting so big - she is almost 8 months old and is so precious! She rolls over, loves to stand up, "talks" all the time and even drinks from a sippy cup now!

I am finally on Facebook so I've been doing that lately instead of updating the blog. Facebook is addicting - I love looking at everyone's pictures and seeing what people are doing now. Such a great way to keep in touch!

Christmas Season!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season! It is so fun this year to enjoy the holidays with Hadley. She is six months old which is so hard to believe. Everything is new to her and she is so curious about everything. Her head just swivels trying to see everything around her. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and went back to see both families - she was a trooper for the whole trip and did wonderful!

Here are some cute pictures!

Trying to get all the cousins on Jeremy's side together was a little difficult!

Oh, my goodness - I can't believe it's been two months since I last posted on the blog! I'm horrible!

Well, all I can say is A LOT has happened in the past two months. Let's start from September 1st. I took Hadley to day care as a trial run since I went back to work on the 2nd. Let's just say she was only there about 2 1/2 hours before I went back to pick her up! Then, on the 2nd, I went back to work and it was the hardest day of my life. I knew she was in good hands but being away from her after being home with her for 12 weeks was so hard. So...a week after I went back to work I resigned from my full time position to be a STAY AT HOME MOM!!! Jeremy and I decided to go that route because this time with her is so precious and we didn't want her to be in day care all the time. Work was very gracious and I worked through the end of September with shortened hours and then began part time work from home on October 1st. It's an ideal set up because I am able to keep working from home, just in a different capacity and still be home with Hadley. I LOVE IT!!!

We have traveled some over the past two months and had visitors here. Jeremy's birthday was in October which was fun to celebrate with Hadley. Shelly and the girls came down to visit, we've gone to two different pumpkin patches, carved pumpkins, gone shopping, visited all the grandparents and cousins, had our first cold (and already working on the second one), rolling over to the side but not quite all the way over, grabbing and holding onto things really well, putting everything in her mouth, laughing all the time, sleeping really well now (thank goodness!) and overall just growing to be such a big girl!!

I promise I will do better on posting but above are some pictures of things we've done recently!

Good Morning!

It is 9:05am and she's still asleep!!! I can't believe it - it's almost time for her morning nap and she hasn't even woken up yet!

We have had a fun weekend - Aunt Shelly came down to visit all by herself - first time in 3 years she has gone anywhere without Charles or the kids! We had a great time - went to Sam Moon and bought the girls adorable bags for school/ballet/just because, Carter's (where of course we bought a lot of cute stuff), and lots of other stuff. I think the highlight of the trip for Shelly was going to the Founders Plaza at DFW Airport. It's this great little park at the end of the runways where you can watch the planes take off and land. For whatever reason, she is obsessed with planes so it was really fun! I took a picture of her looking up at an airplane after it took off and she looks like a little kid in a candy store! We were there for 2 hours - it was a beautiful day with a breeze and we will definitely be going back with Hadley as it gets cooler and have a picnic or something. I'm glad she was able to come down and enjoy some time by herself - Jeremy babysat one night and we went to dinner just the two of us without kids which was really nice! I know Charles, Emily and Ashley missed her, though - they were waiting outside for her when she got home!

We bought a new used car - a Jeep Grand Cherokee which will be my car to drive with Hadley. It feels great to sit up high again - I definitely like SUVs over cars before I feel safer being up higher.

I'm posting a lot of pictures to show how big Hadley is getting!

The Little Things

I texted Jeremy at work yesterday because Hadley finally pooped and he immediately called me back all excited!! :) So, we have decided it is definitely the little things that are so exciting when it comes to a baby - who knew we'd be so excited to change a dirty diaper! She had not had a dirty diaper in over 24 hours, which is odd for her (she has the Ezell stomach for sure) so we were watching it carefully and hoping for a dirty diaper every time we changed her. The doctor's office said to call back in 5 days if she hadn't pooped yet - that seems like an awfully long time to go - can't imagine what that diaper would have been like! But, we're all set now - multiple poopy diapers since then so not to worry! (She will be so embarrassed if she ever sees this!)

Fun Updates!

It has been a while since I have posted anything because we've been busy the last few weeks! Hadley and Mommy traveled back to Kansas and Arkansasfor the first time - she did WONDERFUL!! We only had to stop twice on the way there and once on the way home - I was happily surprised and hope she continues to be a good traveler! We had a wonderful time in both places - Hadley met a lot of family and friends she hadn't yet seen. We had a Sip and See in Fort Smith for everyone to meet both Hadley and Ashley and catch up with Emily, which was really fun. I hadn't seen some of the people there since our wedding! Hadley and Ashley both did great with all the people and Emily was a gracious big sister/counsin. We are going back to Galena at the end of August to do the same thing up there with Daddy. He wasn't able to go with us because he had to work (if you call hiking and fly fishing in Idaho work!) so we are excited to travel back as a family for the first time!

I don't have any pictures on my camera from the trip because Jeremy had the camera, but the pictures at the top are some pictures from his trip to Idaho - he said it was the most beautiful place he had ever been. I never thought of Idaho has a pretty place but it is gorgeous from the pictures!

Hadley is growing like a weed - she is 12 pounds 2 ounces and 23 1/4 inches long! She sucks on her hand and does this cute thing with her lip and loves her paci! She is a morning person - she just smiles and coos whenever you go to get her out of bed in the mornings. She also loves her changing table and her bouncer - that was the best purchase ever! The picture above is her hanging out while getting a bath - she loves baths - isntant calmer! Also, here's a little clip of her smiling really good!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hadley slept through the night last night!!!!

She went to sleep around 8:30pm last night and woke up at 5:15am this morning - yeah!!! I woke up so many times during the night to check on her and she was sleeping just fine! Even at 5:15am she just stirred a little - not real fussy for not having eaten in almost 9 hours! We are so proud of her. She went to sleep right at 8:00pm tonight so we'll see if she sleeps that long again or if it was just a one time thing for now. In the past, good sleep was 8+ hours - I cannot tell you how refreshed I felt this morning after getting 6 full hours of sleep - crazy how being a parent changes your ideals!

So that's the major news although she is doing so many fun things - laughing and smiling a lot more now, which is so fun to watch! She is very strong and can hold her head up which makes it easier to carry her around and "play." She loves to lay on her back and have you raise her up to a sitting position - gets a smile every time!
