BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hadley slept through the night last night!!!!

She went to sleep around 8:30pm last night and woke up at 5:15am this morning - yeah!!! I woke up so many times during the night to check on her and she was sleeping just fine! Even at 5:15am she just stirred a little - not real fussy for not having eaten in almost 9 hours! We are so proud of her. She went to sleep right at 8:00pm tonight so we'll see if she sleeps that long again or if it was just a one time thing for now. In the past, good sleep was 8+ hours - I cannot tell you how refreshed I felt this morning after getting 6 full hours of sleep - crazy how being a parent changes your ideals!

So that's the major news although she is doing so many fun things - laughing and smiling a lot more now, which is so fun to watch! She is very strong and can hold her head up which makes it easier to carry her around and "play." She loves to lay on her back and have you raise her up to a sitting position - gets a smile every time!

SLEEP!!!

We are proud to say Hadley has gone for a full week sleeping 6 hours at night - yeah!!!! She started getting fussy around 8pm last Wednesday night so we got her ready for bed and fed her, and she went right to sleep and didn't wake up until 2:45am! On Thursday, she got fussy at the same time so we repeated the same routine and she again slept till 2:45am. We were very excited to think she's getting on some kind of schedule but didn't want to get our hopes up, but after a week hopefully we're on a roll! I need to learn my lesson and go to bed when she goes to bed, but it's so nice to have the quiet time so I usually get a lot done at night before heading to bed. Oh well, life of a parent! AND, in the middle of all this, she also started taking a bottle without any problems so we have had a WONDERFUL week!

I had a little Mommy time this morning all by myself and went to get a pedicure (first time my toes have been painted in probably 11 months) and ran a few quick errands. It felt so nice and it was great to get out of the house and actually just "run in" somewhere real quick!

Lots of Stuff!

It has been a while since I've posted anything so there is a lot to catch up on!
We had quite a busy week last week, starting on Wednesday. Hadley had her one month check up which means she got a shot. The saying that parents always say - "It hurts me more than it hurts you" - is so true and I totally understand it now! She did really good - when the nurse gave her the shot, she gripped my finger so hard and cried but it only lasted a few seconds and then she was fine. However, Mommy accidentally ripped the band-aid off her leg and she cried harder and longer then than when she got the actual shot!
Poor Hadley - her first band-aid from shots!

Aunt Sammie, Uncle Josh, Nicholas, Natalie and Naomi stopped in on Wednesday on their trip to Florida (a little out of the way but Uncle Josh hadn't met Hadley yet). They got here around 7pm that night and left around 1:00pm on Thursday. Mimi and Bub got here Thursday night around 9:30pm so we cleaned the house and changed out sheets before they got here! Aunt Cathryn, Uncle Rick and Rayanna stopped by Friday morning on their way to Houston to see Micah, so that was fun to see them! Then, Aunt Shelly, Uncle Charles, Emily and Ashley got here Friday night after being stuck in traffic in the middle of Oklahoma - it took them over 8 1/2 hours to get here! It was the first time we had seen the babies or each other since they were born - it was so fun to put them next each other and look at them! Emily is a wonderful big sister and cousin, and Mimi and Bub even babysat all 3 girls while we went and ran some errands!
Nicholas, Hadley, Natalie and Naomi - almost all 4 are looking at the camera!
A future K-Stater???
Mimi and Bub with all 3 girls!
Ashley, Emily and Hadley - so cute!
Aunt Shelly, Emily, Hadley and Mommy had our first outing to Carter's to find matching outfits for the girls' pictures. It was the first time Hadley and Mommy had gotten out - we needed a little help with the stroller for the first time then we got the hang of it! On Sunday, Hadley, Mommy and Daddy went to Quiznos and Target, too, so Hadley has been out and about now. Mommy is very excited to be able and get out of the house - she's been home either on bed rest or waiting for Hadley's shots, so it's nice to be out and about again!
Our first outing - shopping of course!

Happy Birthday Hadley!

Hadley is one month old today!!! It is so hard to believe it has already been a month since she was born - time flies when you're having fun and when you only get 3 hours of sleep at a time!

She is already growing and changing so much - it is amazing to see how much she changes on a daily basis. We think she has truly woken up now - she is so bright eyed and awake most of the day. We've had a few nights of 5 hours of sleep between feedings, but usually it is 3 hours, which we won't complain about. Here's a recap of the things she can do now:
-Grasp a rattle and hold on to it
-Roll to her side
-Smile (a real smile - not just one when she has gas!)
-Turn her head from right to left when laying on her tummy
-Found her hand
We are having so much fun watching her grow and can't wait to see what comes next!

Bath Time!

Hadley had her first bath on Thursday!! I was a little nervous about bath time because she's small and slippery but Jeremy and I did it together and it went really well. She did, however, pee all over me right before we put her in the tub!! I had taken her diaper off and wrapped her in a blanket so she wouldn't get cold, and right as we were putting her in she decided to go all over me! I'm sure it won't be the last time!

She did not like it at first when she had the soap on her and cried but seemed to really like it when we washed her off - maybe she knew it was almost over! We tried the calming lotion after the bath but I don't know that it really calmed her down at all, but we will try it again with the next bath and see!

Daddy getting the bath ready (note our cheat sheet on the tub about how to give a bath - we are definitely first time parents!)

Poor Hadley!

Almost done!

Busy Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend with Nanny, Grandad, Aunt Sammie, Nicholas, Natalie and Naomi! We had a great time with everyone staying here with us, and Hadley was able to meet her cousins on Daddy's side. With three little ones running around, she did really good with the noise and didn't seem bothered by it at all. Nicholas and Natalie call her Baby Hadley and loved to give her kisses and touch her, which was very sweet. We only had one time when three of the four were crying at once, so that's not too bad! Jeremy and I are amazed at how Sammie juggles three little ones and we are excited to hear how the upcoming 2 week Florida vacation goes!

I will say Hadley and Mommy took a 2 hour nap yesterday after everyone left - we were worn out!

Here is a picture of all the kiddos with Nanny and Grandad - it's hard trying to corral four at one time!

Hadley Kate Ezell!

Hadley Kate Ezell was born June 1oth at 5:25pm and was 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 20 inches long. She is absolutely perfect!

She is a lucky little girl to have so many people who came to visit when she was born. Mimi, Bub, Grandma, Pa, Grandmother, Aunt Becky, Uncle Bob, Nanny, Grandad, Nana, Papa, Aunt Le and Uncle Buzz all came down to Keller to visit Hadley. We have a number of people coming over the next few weeks as well to meet her. Aunt Shelly and Uncle Charles are even bringing Emily and Ashley down soon, which will be quite the trip since Ashley is just two weeks older than Hadley! Aunt Sammie, Uncle Josh, Nicholas, Natalie and Naomi are coming down this weekend so we'll have a houseful!

It's amazing how small she is but how much she is growing every day. We thought she was getting Daddy's beautiful olive color skin, but come to find out it was a little bit of jaundice instead! She is much better now and back to normal color, but we're still holding out that she'll get Jeremy's skin tone without the jaunice!

Mimi stayed with us last week after everyone went back home, which was great - we really enjoyed having her here and she was such a huge help as we are getting used to being a family of three now. Our house is already full of toys, baby clothes, socks, burp rags....and she's not even 2 weeks old yet! It is a wonderful change for us.

I am including some pictures of Hadley - we are proud parents and want to show her off anytime we can!
